- Alpha half life: Redistribution half life
- The decrease in therapeutic effect from a drug bolus is primarily due to redistribution time
- Beta half life: Elimination half life
- Amount of time for 50% of the concentration of a drug to be eliminated or transformed
- Very important for infusions, when the compartments and tissue where the drug is redistributed to are saturated
