IV fluids
Should the need arise to start an IV and deliver intravenous fluids, the components are pictured below. Note the spike must be inserted into the IV bag using sterile technique. To ensure the IV bag is correctly prepared, it is recommenced that the clinician practice frequently ensuring sterile technique, total absence of air bubbles, and all components properly connected.
